Tony Curtis Dies…

Legend Tony Curtis has died…here is the article from the Associated Press:

LAS VEGAS – The Clark County coroner says actor Tony Curtis has died.

Coroner Mike Murphy says Curtis died at 9:25 p.m. MDT Wednesday at his Las Vegas area home of a cardiac arrest.

Curtis, who had heart bypass surgery in 1994, began his acting career as a 1950s heartthrob but became a respected actor with such films as “The Defiant Ones” and “Sweet Smell of Success.

“The Defiant Ones” brought him an Oscar nomination in 1958 for his portrayal of a racist escaped convict handcuffed to a black escapee, Sidney Poitier. The following year, he co-starred in one of the most acclaimed film comedies ever, Billy Wilder’s “Some Like It Hot.”

As you know, he starred with my Marilyn in that film. A legend is gone. Here are some photos of Mr. Curtis.

  1. Oh, what sad news to wake up to.

Your photo of Marilyn on your header seems to speak of his death. I imagine her, at the funeral, so sad at the loss of the great Tony Curtis, and unsuccessfully trying to put on a happy face.

You picked some great shots of the incredible Mr. Curtis. Thank you.

  2. Ohh how sad. He was so funny in Some Like it Hot! I still couldn’t believe this was Jamie Lee Curtis’s father when I found out. He was just in NJ for his book. I should have went. Oh well. R.I.P. to him & he definitely needs a big thanks for all the great work he did!

  3. I’m so sad….we’ve lost so many from that fabulous era of Hollywood and fashion. I think I’ll watch one of his movies this weekend….

Thank you for so many posts about these great actresses and actors….this is why I follow your blog. You’ve got great style and your ROCK!!!
