We are in Day 4 of our guest series on Love. I am so excited about today’s post by Katy of Sugarlaws. Katy from Sugarlaws is absolutely adorable! Her blog is one of my favorite daily reads and is definitely cutting edge with her living in the fashion center, Manhattan! I’m so jealous! Please go visit her and tell her how wonderful she is! Before I move on to her post, don’t forget to vote for Fine Man Friday before tomorrows post! Here is her post on Love!
Three years ago, on Valentine’s Day, in a whirlwind, totally unexpected surprise trip to Paris, my phenomenal then-boyfriend Chad got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. When I stopped crying and registered what he was saying, I said (screamed) yes.
So when I think about love, particularly at this time of the year, all I feel is incredibly grateful for my husband and our two fabulous puppies (who we think of as our dog-son and dog-ter, ha).
Because what is love, if not your family? I may love a pair of shoes or a new reality television show, but for me, love is my little family of four. We’ve done everything over the years for Valentine’s Day, from staying in and watching a movie to trekking to a super-trendy restaurant. And in the end, it’s the people you care about who matter a lot more than the place or the occasion! Coming home to Chad and the dogs every night, or spending a weekend curled up at home, is about as much love as a girl could ask for.
