After all the hype of awards season, W Magazine published an article reviewing all the performances they thought were the best of the year. I agree with some, not so much with others. What do you think? Who do you think deserves an Oscar this year?
First of course, was Natalie Portman for her role in “Black Swan.” Am I the only one who won’t see this film because of the lesbian love scene between Natalie and Mila Kunis?
Jesse Eisenberg did a fabulous job of portraying Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook fame in “The Social Network.” I loved this movie and was really surprised it didn’t come across as cheesy.
Justin Timberlake was good in “The Social Network,” but I thought that Andrew Garfield really stole the spotlight. Who is this guy? He’s too cute, in a dorky kind of way.
Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways.” I didn’t see this film and am dying to. I can’t believe how much she has grown up!
Nicole Kidman in “Rabbit Hole.” I’ve heard a lot of buzz surrounding this one, but haven’t seen it yet. Let’s talk about how gorgeous she looks in this photo?!
Mila Kunis in “Black Swan.” I’ve loved her since “That 70’s Show.” Some say she is even better than Natalie in this film. What do you think?
Melissa Leo in “The Fighter.” I thought she looked absolutely gorgeous at The Golden Globes and can’t wait to see her in this film.
Who are your picks for the Oscar? Have a great Tuesday friends!

Nicole Kidman looks dynamite in that picture! Wow!
Fun post!
Contrary to what the trailer makes it look like, “Black Swan” is not at all about a psycho lesbian love affair. The scene is about three minutes long and never revisited. Don’t let that stop you from seeing it! I thought Mila’s performance was just alright, Natalie stole the show.
Jesse Eisenberg was awesome. I thought Justin was ok, but not spectacular. Andrew Garfield is my new boyfriend! He’s from the UK. Rent “Boy A.” He was just as amazing in that, if not more. He’s also the new Spiderman, so he’s about to blow up over here! The Social Network was my favorite movie of the year.
Melissa Leo was perfection! I had no idea she was so beautiful, because I had never heard of her before and she is just so trashy in The Fighter. Great movie.
I really want to see Rabbit Hole.
What did you think about SATC 2?
I just need to say that the photos you chose for that post are phenomenal!

NK looks fabulous in that photo. I rarely agree with the “experts” picks and it seems when the hype is really up there the worse or depressing the piece is. 🙂 Just use skim and splenda in the pudding.
I saw Black Swan and I thought it was very good but the lesbian scene was very unnecessary I think. However both actresses were very good in their roles! I heard about Nicole Kidman being fabulous in Rabbit Hole. I know the story is depressing but I might want to see it! She does look pretty in that photo! =)
Melanie’s Randomness
You must be tired of me commenting, but I love the things you bring up here. I totally agreed with the Social Network’s wins. It was well done and kept the tension from the beginning to the end. I really liked Andrew Garfield too. I think he may be English, heard him and think he had an accent.
I have loved Melissa Leo since she was on Homicide. So glad to see her getting the recognition she deserves. Goes to show sometimes you have to wait a long time for it!
I rarely agree with who the media says is the best. Where are the actors in True Grit? That was by far the best movie of the year. I saw Black Swan and found it very depressing and disturbing.
