Marilyn and the Kennedy’s
Robert Kennedy
JFK
Peter Lawford
I’ve been revisiting some old books and sites on Marilyn’s death lately. I am (just like so many of you) very intrigued with her mysterious death. It seems to be one of the most talked about possible conspiracies of our time. Will we ever know what happened to her?
Most people believe that she was given some type of enema (she often took these as a weight loss method), that conflicted with her sleeping medication. Sounds a little fishy to me.
Here are some possible theories:
–She committed suicide after years of unhappiness, and recently finding out that John F. Kennedy wanted nothing to do with her.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
This is the official cause of death (‘probable suicide’).
However conspiracy lovers say that it is not consistent with forensic facts. She died, apparently, of a rectally administered barbiturate enema (source crimelibrary.com) which, if true, could not have been administered by herself.
Recently published transcripts from conversations with her psychiatrist, John Miner, indicate that Monroe was not suicidal, and was making plans for her future, including a remarriage to Joe DiMaggio.
“I feel certain I’ll win an Oscar for one or more of my Shakespeare women,” Monroe says according to the transcript.
–She died as a result of a simple accident.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
Conspiracy lovers have a field day on this theory. This is why: Marilyn had two physicians (Dr. Ralph Greenson and Dr. Hyman Engelberg) both were attempting to get her off Nembutal, substituting chloral hydrate to help her sleep.
It is possible, the story goes, that the fatal enema was given to Marilyn by mistake as Dr Greenson (now dead himself, so cant respond) was not aware that Monroe had been taking Nembutal capsules during the day.
Dr. Engelberg was apparently having marital problems at the time which might explain why he didn’t communicate his prescription details. Monroe, too, may not have realized that Nembutal would have a reaction against the chloral hydrate.
So, who administered the enema?
crimelibrary.com: “…it had to be Eunice Murray, who, like Greenson, had no inkling that the sedative enema would be fatal. Any doctor might be loath to admit to himself or others that he had made such a significant mistake in such a high-profile patient, especially since Marilyn appeared drugged during the afternoon. Also, if Eunice was the person who administered the enema, it would be natural for her to try to protect herself and Dr. Greenson by pretending that no such procedure was given to Marilyn.”
–Marilyn Monroe was having an affair with John F Kennedy (and possibly Robert) and she was about to go public with what she knew. She was killed by ‘government agents’ to protect the president.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
Marilyn knew a lot about JFK: his marital infidelities (at the time hushed up) and other private matters. She had his notes and letters and was privy to Kennedy’s involvement with Sam Giancana, the mob leader. The Kennedy brothers had discussed national security matters with Monroe.
It is reasonable for the Kennedy administration to want to at least try to cover up the liaison with Monroe, but did they?
–Robert Kennedy, the president’s brother, went to see Monroe the night she died to tell her that President Kennedy did not want to see her anymore.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
There are witnesses, including a policeman, who places Robert Kennedy in the area at the time of her death.
It is possible after this rejection her good mood, seen earlier in the day, changed and she killed herself.
It is also alleged that somebody removed a diary and an incriminating note from Monroe’s home at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive, Brentwood.
–Peter Lawford (Bobby Kennedy’s brother in law) and Pat Newcomb went to Marilyn Monroe’s house on the night she died.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
This is seen as further evidence of a Kennedy connection.
–Bobby Kennedy himself murdered Marilyn Monroe.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
No, not likely at all.
Robert Kennedy was a highly respected Attorney General with an unimpeachable integrity with little mystery surrounding him, as opposed to Monroe who had many secrets.
–Marilyn was killed by the mafia as punishment to the Kennedy’s for their attacks on them, and to expose Kennedy’s philandering.
NOTES ON THIS THEORY:
Definite motive, but probably difficult to accomplish that night in view of the number of people about.
I’m curious about what you think happened to Marilyn. Please share your thoughts and evidence. Have a great night friends!
Does your site have a contact page? I’m having problems locating it but, I’d
like to send you an email. I’ve got some ideas for your
blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great site and I look
forward to seeing it improve over time.
Interesting Hannah! How have you been honey? I miss you! Kori xoxo
Murdered for sure. You should check out ‘Marilyn’s Last Words’ It’s a total insight into the investigation, so interesting. Joe DiMaggio obviously had his own theories as well; When the Kennedys came to Yankee Stadium, he refused to shake any of their hands. Just saying……!
Interesting ideas Alice…I never heard that before. Kori xoxo
My sister was living in CA at the time and she says that among people who knew Marilyn it was believed that Edgar Hoover had her killed to keep her away from the Kennedys. Hoover had tapes and pictures of all Kennedy’s trysts and Marilyn was the most dangerous. It was believed that Hoover “convinced” one of the doctors to take care of it for the sake of his country. The secrets stay with the dead. So sad.
Really any scenario is tragic. I guess we will never really know.
I’m reading this post with squinty eyes. I’m think it was a conspiracy. I really do. I didn’t know about the enema. Poor thing. I feel so bad for her. I think it was conspiracy definitely.
Blimey, I had no idea there were so many possibilities!
Fellow blond popping in to say hi! I think they killed her….
Marilyn was another candle that burned out too soon. I’d go with the accidental death–if the Kennedys had anything to do with her death I’m sure someone would have proven it by now. I realize this subject is fascinating to many but to me, it’s just sad. And I absolutely cannot imagine an “old Marilyn”!
you should defntly become a lawyer.
i would be happy to take u under my wing.. (:

i personally thinks it sounds like a murder case.
she must of been killed.
she was beautiful and rich who wouldnt want her.
I’m inclined to believe she either overdosed or was killed and then made to look as if she overdosed. Most certainly if it become widespread public knowledge that she was having an affair with the Kennedys, that was something that couldn’t be tolerated. However it may have happened, she left us far too early. But then again, we like to remember stars when they were young.
I’ve heard both sides and each point makes a lot of sense…I think that she was killed by accident, personally…looks as though she is in the same boat as MJ (as much as i dislike him).

Let’s see Kori, I think she accidentally killed herself, but the fact that she was told not to call the president anymore, and they wanted her to go away is weird too. Marilyn would have interfered with JFK becoming re-elected if Jackie had divorced him. So sad whatever happened. On a happier note, Happy New Year to you my dear!
Take care,
Martha
I don’t know much about her death to say, but some of them sound logical.
Hmmm, these are all fascinating theories, several of which I’ve not heard before. Such a sad tale. I wonder what she would have been like today?

However she died, it wasn’t something that should have happened. Our world would have certainly been richer had she lived on. Can you imagine an old Marilyn?
Over the years I have read every book that came out about MM & JFK etc….
Here is my theory…
Giacana was told by Joe Kennedy that if “they” could manipulate the votes to get JFK in office JFK would in return see to it that “they” could move into Cuba with nightclubs, gambling etc. When JFK didn’t do this Giacana et al was betrayed & offed MM & later JFK as payback to Joe….Just My Humble Opinion…..
Happy New Year!
Love,
Marilyn

Im sure you’ve watched the movie Norma Jean and Marlyin. Its a lovely movie which might throw some light reg. her death. I love the movie’s tagline “Marlyin was our fantasy, Norma Jean was her reality” =)
Fascinating reading….we will never know will we?
She was undoubtedly privy to many of the Kennedy brothers secrets and being involved with them was NOT a good thing for her…..but I find it really hard to believe she was murdered by them.
The Mafia links are proven for sure.
I don’t think it was suicide….but I do think it could have been an accidental overdose of prescription drugs….we see enough of that these days don’t we….and as she had 2 physicians and could presumably get her hands on whatever medication she wanted/needed, if I had to bet on something, it would be that.
Very very sad….
I don’t have a definitive theory on her death, and I doubt we’ll ever know what actually happened, but she was such a tragic soul, wasn’t she?
Thank you for not posting the autopsy pic. I watched a documentary on all the theory’s YEARS ago and cried myself to sleep. She was murdered.
I’ve heard about those theories about her and the Kennedy’s. The one that involves the mafia seems to be one of the most well-known. It’s interesting to speculate, no doubt. A tragedy, nonetheless.
