Ok, this might not be the most exciting post today, but I need some serious advice on which phone to choose for my upgrade. As you know, Verizon is getting the Iphone 4 next month on 2/10/11. I currently have a Droid, which I love, but it’s really heavy and not exactly sleek-looking.
Here are my reasons for wanting the Iphone: it’s cool, it’s cool, it’s cool, and I have a MacBook Pro and use my Ipod for everything, so why not add to the apple collection?
Here are my reasons for wanting a Droid phone: it’s functional, connects to my Gmail flawlessly, and I haven’t had any problems.
That being said, I am considering all the Droid phones, but am really liking the Fascinate, by Samsung because it kind of reminds me of the Iphone, but with Droid capabilities. Oh wow, I’m even boring myself lol. Anyway, can you please help me out by giving me some advice? I promise to post about something much more exciting later, but need my Blogger friends to help me out. Thanks!
I don’t have any experience with either – I’m a Blackberry user myself. That said, I plan on picking up an iPhone the next time I need a new one – so I vote for that! 🙂
I have the IPhone 4 and love it too!! My Gmail works fine with the IPhone!! 🙂
Hola, fellow Verizonite!!!
I am pretty much in the same boat with you, Kori… although my current phone is a ‘not-so-smart’ one, just one of the ol’ ‘flippy’ LG deals, with ‘real buttons’…Dang, I remember ROTARY phones, y’all…yeah, yeah, ‘what’s THAT?’ …just look it up on Wiki, y’all… :-/
…honestly, I am NOT big on phones (my wife handles the phone chores here)…but it is a bit intreiguing that the iPhone is on its way to Verizon – there are enough ‘plusses’ to hook up (can you say ‘Gingerology remote posts?’ :-] ) – and just all the other stuff that would be nice to have. BUT, I think we are going to hold off on purchase for a bit – the contract deal is part of that, but also, to wait for Verizon and The Apples to ‘mesh’ properly…might take a year or so to get it running ‘smooth’…
ANYWAY, who knows which is superior… I just hope YOU get the phone to end all phones, Lady K!!!
KIG!

Kori,
I just noticed you too are a high school English teacher as well. Always enjoy meeting fellow educators. 🙂
I wanted to contact you to see if you’d be interested in being a featured spotlighted blogger in my weekly newsletter. If you are interested, I will email you the questions regarding luxury that I’d like you to respond to. My email is [email protected]
Thank you again for you tweets – it always nice to see. 🙂
I have the Iphone4 and love it. My son has one, too, so we talk on facetime 🙂 Great feature!
I am absolutely no help to you. I have a flip phone from about…. 4 years ago because I keep dropping phones in to coffee cups – running over them, etc. etc.
I look forwards to seeing what you end up doing though!!! I have to make the switch in a couple of months!!!

iPhone 4…I’ve had all versions up till the 4 and it’s the most amazing one to date!!! Cheers!
I have been wanting to make the switch to Apple for sometime now. I was so excited to see that Verizon was getting the iphone. I have seen the Samsung but I have not read any reviews on it. That would be my suggestion, read all the reviews you can and then decide.
I think I am getting an iphone myself 🙂
The iPhone 4 connects to my gmail with no problems. I LOVE being able to face time chat with my bestie and it’s video rocks!
I just got an iPhone 4 for Christmas (& before that I had just the iphone 3 forever) & I Love It! A lady in my office had an iPhone for a long time, but over the Christmas break she switched to Verizon & the Fascinate. Her boyfriend is a regional manager for Verizon, so her decision to switch had nothing to do with the actual phone… She is really excited about the iPhone 4 coming out for Verizon in February. She said her Fascinate is nice, but it isn’t a Great as the iPhone…

I guess in the end..it all comes down to the bill..afterwards..if you are happy with that.
My cousins in rural Texas had the iPhones..but they were outrageously billed..so they went back to blackberry.
if it were me… i’d go with the iphone. ive been a verizon customer forever and i’ve been waiting until the iphone came to verizon! now it’s closer than ever!
I’m a Mac girl.. everything is Apple.. so you know what I would pick!

I won’t try to sway you in any directioin. But I will offer an observation: The iPhone handles gmail seamlessly — along with multiple other accounts if desired.
Gmail works perfectly in the iPhone’s mail program, and also has a separate App if you want to go through a different interface to gmail — which I’ve never done nor tried.
Good luck in your choice.
I have the Samsung droid and love it!
