Love, Life, and Blessings

Kat Von D

December 28, 2009

You all know I have a passion for vintage things, but also love anyone who has a different or edgy style. Kat Von D has just that. Although she has more tattoos (many more) than I would ever want, I find her style to be rocker, edgy, and it really works for her.

I watch L.A. Ink all the time, and even visited the shop with my friend Judy. Corey Miller did 2 of my 4 tattoos (he works at the shop and is on the show). I love tattoos, and would probably have many more, if I wasn’t a teacher, and needed to look professional most of the time. I have 4 of them…one on my lower back (the dreaded tramp stamp), a band of flowers around my big toe, faith on my foot, and a fleur de lis on my wrist. Most people who know or meet me would never think I had tattoos until I show them. I love that too. It’s kind of like my little rebellious side.

Kat wrote a book last year showing pics of the many tattoos she has done, while giving us a sense of who she is. She grew up in Colton, CA, and was a troubled teen. She was artistic her entire life, and began tattooing at an extremely young age in a shop probably not really meant for girls.

She has been sober for over 2 years now, and continues to be successful with her make-up line, books, and tattooing. Here are some pics of Kat. Hope you all are having a great Monday!

Oh, P.S., I am very behind on responding to my comments. I plan to catch up today friends!

I am usually prejudiced against that many tattoos on a girl (I don’t mind a few) and don’t think it looks bad on a guy. But she looks great.

    I got 4 tattoos myself!

She is so gorgeous and talented! I haven’t watched her show in a while, but she is a true artist. I wish I could have more tattoos, but it hurt too dang much for me to ever do it again! I can’t believe you have one on your foot and toe. There is no meat there, girl!
I wish you lots of happiness and prosperity in 2010, Kori!

Ooh I love LA ink. I didn’t know she had a book I might have to look into that.
I think she looks fab, her tattoos don’t take away from her being pretty and she has a unique quirky style.
I currently have 2 medium sized tattoos and would like to get more at some point.
My best friend is a teacher too and has the same problem, she wants more tattoos but only has a limited amount of space she can get them so they’re not visible hehe.
    Fun post 🙂

I love her photos… even with all the tattoos, she carries it nicely and makes it looks like art… not trashy. 🙂

Thanks Kori… you’re also such a sweet blogger friend. Wishing you all the best this coming year. xoxo

I tell you…I think we were separated at birth or at the very least soul sisters! I was just watching L.A. Ink this morning at 6:00 am. I adore her and think she is so beautiful and has an amazing kind soul! I love her spicy personality!!

    Love and hugs,

Yeah, Kat is one rockin’ chick. Side note: my makeup artist sister in law is a dead ringer for her (without tattoos, though).

I’ve been meaning to tell you that since reading your guest blog bit the other day, I think you are just such a bright spirit, not to mention an amazingly courageous woman! You deserve nothing but pure blissful happiness!!!

While I don’t want tattoos myself I do admire her confidence. I’m in agreement with the ‘gravity doesn’t run uphill’ comment 🙂 Makes me wonder what it will look like when the wrinkles have all set in. That’s what makes the world so interesting. Everyone has their own style. Think how boring it would be if we were all exactly alike?!

I never realised that she has stars tattooed on her face! I only have 1 tattoo but that’s enough for me! I’d like to be brave enough to have as many as Kat Von D though! x

Well, let’s see…. I am 58 & not of the same mind-set as the younger generation. While I am not into tattooing I think this young lady is beautiful & I hope the tattoo’s look as good on her when she is my age as they do now.
Just remember this… The sands of time don’t flow up hill!! LOL!!
    Happy New Year!!
    Love,

Been watching her since Miami Ink and happy she’s had such success. You are so lucky that Corey did your tattoos, I am tres jealous. I have three myself, and I feel the same way you do about them- no one would know that I have them unless I show ’em. Hope your new year is fab!

Inspiration & Blessings

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
