Blonde Episodes

Love, Life, and Blessings

Louise Brooks

November 17, 2009

I came across photos of Louise Brooks completely by accident this morning. I could not believe how beautiful she was and how amazing she looked in photographs. I really didn’t know that much about her.

She was born Mary Louise Brooks and was known for her bobbed haircut. She was a dancer and singer, who had no support from her parents. She was even molested as a young child, causing her to never feel comfortable in her relationships with men. She was born in Kansas and became one of the most recognizable silent film actresses of all time. She was an alcoholic since age 14, and had a poor reputation with men. She was married twice, but never had children. There were many rumors throughout her life about her possible bisexuality, but she merely chalked it up to being more comfortable with women. Here are some amazing images of Louise Brooks. Have a fantastic day friends!

Such a stunning (and hugely talented!) woman. She had the kind of eyes that seemed to pierce right through you, but in a sweet way, like a puppy almost.

Thank you very much for your impute regarding my strangely behaving hot roller set, honey, I really appreciate it!

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

I’ve always been a big fan of the older Hollywood movies. I took a humanities through the film course back in college and I’ve been hooked ever since. My favorite is the 30’s,40’s, and 50’s. I personally feel that the Vietnam era in the 60’s redirected Hollywood and in doing so it lost something great. Something classic on screen that we are missing today.

Great photos and post! Sad to hear about her past.

So beautiful! I love her style. The second, third and fifth pics are just stunning. It’s sad about her troubled childhood – I never knew that!

P.S. I nominated you for a Beautiful Blogger award, dear! iamemmamusic.blogspot.com

I had seen her photos before, but never knew her name, or anything of her life. Fascinating.
Love the new look of your blog! The pink and black dots are perfectly suited to both the name and the theme!

She sure doesn’t look like she had a questionable past. Looks can be deceiving.

Isn’t she a stunner? The hairstyle never dates – hers was the eponymous bob! I saw Pandora’s Box – she made the screen come alive – you couldn’t take your eyes off her. I can’t believe she made so few films. Mind you, she grew the bob out and tried acting with long hair as her look made her such a style icon. It didn’t work, hence the slow slide into obscurity. Shame.

I have always found her to be so fascinating. I adore her style and awesome bob! Only she could pull of some of those fashions with such aplomb,

Inspiration & Blessings

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

Psalm 37:7-9
