Moundsville Penitentiary

August 18, 2010

This past Sunday, my brother, sister-in-law and I visited yet another supposed haunted prison. We took a trip out to Moundsville, West Virginia to visit the Moundsville Penitentiary. This place is seriously creepy. I didn’t find it as aesthetically pleasing as Mansfield, but it was definitely an experience to see it.

There were 85 hangings and 9 executions by electric chair here. The place had a terrible vibe. My sister-in-law actually started to feel a little nauseous at times. There were around 900 people in all who died here. If you get a chance to visit, you should. In the meantime, here are some photos and a video from Ghost Adventures when they visited the prison. Hope you are having a great hump day! If you want to check out their website, visit Moundsville Penitentiary online.

Inspiration & Blessings

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

Psalm 37:7-9
