I was watching TCM this morning and came across the 1959 film Gidget starring Sandra Dee. It’s the perfect film for summer. It has surfers, cute girls, beaches, and of course the adorable boys. The fashion and the music was so much fun. It was just a simpler time.
Growing up, I loved to watch the t.v. show Gidget with Sally Field. It was of course based on the film and took place in the 1960s. Sally field was the cutest. I wanted to be just like her. Take a look at the photos of the film and show.

I like Sally Field best as Gidget. However, I like Sandra Dee in other movies.
I’ve never seen either, but love Sally Field so I may have to track down the tv show!

Watched the show all the time but I have always been partial to Sandra Dee..I’ve been called “Sarah Dee” for years!

Oh what fun! I loved both the movie and the tv show – who could have been any cuter than Sandra Dee and Sally Field? And that yellow ruffled bikini was my favorite – after that still (photo) came out, I always drew it for my paper dolls.
