So I’m sitting here watching The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock and forgot how funny this film is. Not only am I head over heels in love with Ryan Reynolds, but Sandra is one of my favorite actresses ever. She’s beautiful and funny, what a total package.
I’m sure you’ve all seen the film, but if you haven’t, you have to check it out. In the meantime, here are some photos, a bit of trivia, and a clip from the film. Enjoy!
–Sandra Bullock plays a Canadian who wants to marry her assistant in order to keep her Visa status in the U.S. and avoid being deportation to Canada. In real life, Bullock is American and Reynolds is Canadian.
–225 Franklin Street, Boston was the real location of the Colden Books office. The entire main office, including Margaret’s and Bob’s offices were completely rebuilt and replicated at Disney Studios in Burbank, CA for pickups and reshoots.
–Julia Roberts was the first choice to play Margaret, but reportedly refused to take a pay cut, so Sandra Bullock took over the role.
–Betty White almost turned down her role in the film because filming would require her to spend ten weeks away from her golden retriever.

I love this movie!!! It’s definitely one of those movies I can watch over and over again!
I watched half and then went to bed, is that bad? It just wasn’t picking up quickly enough for me. It did make me laugh though 🙂
I watched this movie for the first time this weekend and loved it!! Loved your facts about the movie too, I dont think the movie would have been as good with julia roberts.
Another tid bit? There was originally a band in the wedding scenes. Men in Black from Boston! How do I know? I’m friends with the band! 🙂 I was so sad when their scene was cut!
Love this movie! Glad to see Sandra than Julia really. Julia Roberts seems to much like a diva! Plus Sandra and Ryan seem to look better together anyway!

I love, love, love this movie! And I think Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds both did a fabulous job and have wonderful chemistry. And a wow, to the trivia…didn’t know it! Thanks so much for sharing. I opted not to watch The Proposal (have it on dvd) to watch the last few episodes of the Family Jewels and the season finale…couldn’t miss it! I’ll watch the dvd tomorrow. 🙂
Oh, this movie is too funny! Betty White dancing around that fire, and then Sandra comes in and starts singing “To The Window, To The Wall”. I gut laugh every single time! Heck I’m even giggling thinking about it now!
And Betty White almost not doing the movie, cause she’d be gone from her dog for too long! I believe every word of it!
