Good Morning! Normally I do a fashion post for the award shows, but haven’t been that inspired lately by what’s out there, so I decided to skip it. There were a few gorgeous gowns, but overall I thought the fashion was blah.
They say that the Golden Globe winners are usually a good indicator of who will win for the Oscars, although sometimes there are definitely upsets. In case you missed the show, here were the main winners:
BEST ACTOR IN A MUSICAL OR COMEDY:
Matt Damon for The Martian (Wait, what? Yep, pretty much, which is why all the jokes about how funny the film was…um no.)
BEST ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL OR COMEDY:
Jennifer Lawrence for Joy.
BEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA:
Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant. I’m torn here. I saw the film Friday and the cinematography was stunning, the music was inspirational, and Leo did a great job, but the film was about an hour too long and a bit boring to tell you the truth. Did Leo show the range needed to win? I’m not sure, but I’m a fan, so congrats.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Kate Winslet for Steve Jobs
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Sylvester Stallone for Creed (YES! The audience was so supportive and nostalgic).
BEST DRAMA MOTION PICTURE:
The Revenant
