It’s November 1st! Am I the only one who will begin playing Christmas music as of today all the way through January 1? I think not. Elle Magazine agrees with me, and says it’s time to put Mariah Carey’s Christmas album on replay for the next 2 months. Who doesn’t love Christmas music? Oh just the unhappy, weird people who we don’t want to be around at the most joyous time of year anyway right? Being a high school teacher who plays music everyday I’m fully prepared for my kids to hate me come December when they’ve heard enough Christmas carols to choke on their egg nog. Oh well…I’ll never stop loving it. So, in honor of the tradition, here are my favorite all time Christmas songs to help get you in the mood! Have a great day and go get your trees up this weekend! 😉
Since this entire album makes me think of my childhood, I couldn’t select one song so:
- Johnny Mathis—Merry Christmas
2. Elvis Presley—Blue Christmas
3. Brenda Lee—Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree
4. Burl Ives—A Holly Jolly Christmas
5. Mariah Carey—All I Want For Christmas Is You
6. Nat King Cole—O Holy Night
7. Wham!—Last Christmas
8. The Chipmunks—The Chipmunk Song
9. Burl Ives—You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch
10. Bobby Helms & The Anita Kerr Singers—Jingle Bell Rock
What are your favorites?
