I’ll admit it…I no longer have any interest in watching the Oscars. It has nothing to do with the whole Will Smith spectacle this past Sunday night. It started for me long before that. Movies are meant to entertain. Yes, they are meant to teach us about each other and allow us as human beings to find a common ground in this crazy world. I love films for that. What I don’t love is Hollywood using the entire award show to further some type of political agenda. BTW, is Sean Penn still going to “smelt” his awards in public since the Academy refused him some footage from Ukraine? Hollywood and politics=nope.
Although I don’t watch the awards, I still check out the fashion of course. Each year at the Vanity Fair afterparty, photographer Mark Seliger takes some gorgeous portraits of those in attendance. Here are a few of my favorites this year.
