I’ll be back to my series titled Women of Golf tomorrow, but for now, I wanted to share some hair tips with you. I’m getting my hair done today and can’t wait. As we get older, our hair gets thinner and harder to manage it seems. I’ve always wanted those beautiful waves of glory cascading down my shoulders, but my hair is a bit thin for that. I’m therefore constantly looking for new ways to thicken up my hair.
How to Cope with Thinning Hair
Thinning hair and in worse cases, hair loss, can really start to take a toll on a woman’s self-esteem. Those suffering from thinning hair can often suffer more than just on the physical side of things, making it difficult for them to go anywhere without feeling worried that people are looking or staring at them and worrying about their appearance all the time. Thinning hair can be a result of a range of different things – it can be genetic, caused by problems such as alopecia, or temporary as the result of chemicals such as bleach and hair dye or an allergic reaction. Thinning hair is also more commonly seen as we get older. So, how do you cope if your hair is starting to thin?
Treatment
If your thinning hair is due to an underlying condition, the first thing that you will need to do is get treatment as soon as you notice a difference. In many cases, thinning hair can be stopped before it gets any worse by simply going to the doctors and getting medication that will treat whatever is causing the hair to thin. This is especially true in the case of thinning hair caused by allergic reactions – getting the right treatment as soon as possible can ensure that the damage doesn’t get any worse, and in some cases can even help your hair to grow back.
Hiding the Problem
The good news for women suffering with thinning hair and hair loss is that unlike some other physical problems which you may not be able to hide quite so easily, hair loss or thinning hair can be easily hidden. If you’re starting to worry about your appearance and want to hide the reason why you’re feeling so anxious when you step out, it’s a good idea to research all of the different options available to you. And, there are many – hair pieces, hair extensions and even wigs can all be used to easily hide thinning hair or patches of hair loss so that you can regain your self-confidence and no longer worry about what your hair looks like. You can even get hair accessories specially designed for the purpose of covering up thinning or receding hair.
Surgical Procedures
If your thinning hair or hair loss is severe and you want to do something more permanent than wear a wig to fix the problem, you may be able to have a surgical procedure such as a hair transplant, which is available at many clinics. This usually minimally invasive surgery transplants new hair follicles into your scalp, which once grown will cover up any areas where your hair was previously thinning or falling out. Hair transplants are available from many vein treatment center clinics and other cosmetic clinics such as NY Metropolitan Vein and Aesthetic Center and are definitely worth looking into if you’re really struggling to manage your hair problems.
Thinning hair or hair loss doesn’t have to completely knock your self-esteem. With all of the different options available to you, nobody need even know!
